Associate Professor Dr Wong Yin Onn

Dr Wong Yin Onn joined Monash University Malaysia in February 2007 when the first batch of clinical students reported to the Johor Clinical School. Dr Wong graduated with distinction from the University of Malaya and was Visiting Lecturer at his alma mater in 1988 -1989. He wrote a book on “Emergencies in Internal Medicine” in 1988 which became a popular handbook for House Officers and Medical Officers.
Dr Wong has been active in teaching medical students and doctors sitting for Post Graduate examinations since settling to private practice as a Consultant Physician in Johor Bahru in 1990.
Dr Wong has also been teaching Buddhism regularly in both Johor Bahru and Singapore the last few years and was an invited speaker at the 3rd Global Conference on Buddhism. He is also the Patron of Majjhima Dhamma Centre, a centre dedicated to teaching meditation in Singapore.
Dr Wong now divides his time equally between his clinical work and teaching commitments.
