Female Empowerment

My dear students,
I have tried so hard to get you girls to be better than what you think you are! I really tried from the very first day I met you all. Remember my lecture? Remember Elizabeth Blackwell and Soo Kim Lan?

As the father of 2 daughters I have taught them throughout their lives that they can be the BEST, as good as any other boy or girl if not better. I taught them to speak OUT loud, Not to be shy or to hide behind another person. I taught them never to hide and cry BUT to speak up and fight for a worthy cause or an injustice. Since they were toddlers I had taught them that tears never solved any problems.

The future of medicine is in the hands of women; just look at your class composition. You can be the next Prof of Medicine, the next Consultant Neurosurgeon, or perhaps the next Dr Wong. The only thing stopping you is your mindset. Sadly I still see the disease in you all, please SPEAK up, STAND up and break the glass ceiling.
